A full-stack app that analyzes facial expressions during video calls and coaches nonverbal communication in real time.
The idea
The pandemic reduced in-person interaction and made it harder to practice the nonverbal side of networking. Coffee Coach helps people prepare for conversations and understand how engaged they appear during them.
How it works
- Generate a conversation plan and sample questions from meeting details
- Track facial expressions with MediaPipe and Face API
- Detect changes in mood and engagement
- Offer real-time feedback during a video call
Challenges
Real-time sentiment analysis, AI prompts, and computer vision each introduced separate sources of uncertainty. This was my first project with computer-vision libraries and one of my first using the OpenAI API, making the integration itself a significant learning experience.
